By its own account, the hostel's founder arrived in London in 1999, worked his way from staff member to manager of a small hostel, and bought it from the previous owner in 2004.
Local tip
It's well outside the centre, in Hendon, so factor the tube journey time into any late-night plans. It runs free group dinners and regular social nights, worth going for if you want to actually meet other travellers rather than just sleep somewhere cheap.
