Why Foot & Line exists

Foot & Line started from a simple, real frustration: London is one of the most walkable, most transit-rich cities in the world, and the moment you actually need your phone the most, deciding what to do next, figuring out which exit to take, is exactly when it's least likely to work. As of 2026, only around 60% of Underground stations have signal at all underground, full coverage isn't expected until later this year. This app was built backward from that one fact.

But it grew into something bigger than solving a signal problem. Public transport and walking in a city like London aren't just cheaper or greener ways to get somewhere, they can be genuinely enjoyable, if the journey itself is made worth paying attention to. Most apps optimize for the fastest route and stop there. Foot & Line exists to make choosing the Tube, the bus, or your own feet feel like the better choice, not just the responsible one, by making the journey itself interesting, and by making the real cost and impact of that choice visible, not abstract.
