Did you know
Holland House was built in 1605 for Sir Walter Cope and later became a 19th-century social and literary hub whose guests included Lord Byron and Charles Dickens. Most of the house was destroyed by Luftwaffe bombing in 1940, and the hostel now occupies the East Wing that survived, alongside the ruins and gardens.
