Did you know
A preserved cherry tree trunk in the front bar is said to be the one Elizabeth I danced around with Sir Christopher Hatton. The pub stood on Bishop of Ely land, so its licensees historically got their licence from Cambridge.
Local tip
It's genuinely hard to find. Look for the small bishop's mitre sign in the unmarked alley off Hatton Garden. And note it's shut on weekends, open weekdays only.
