Did you know
The pub survived the Great Fire of London despite dating from the 1600s, and was originally known as the League of Seven Stars after the seven provinces of the Netherlands, reflecting its early Dutch sailor clientele.
Local tip
Its location right behind the law courts means it's popular with barristers on weekday lunchtimes. Go outside that window if you want a quieter, more spacious visit.
