A large Hindu temple in Neasden built from hand-carved limestone and marble shipped from Bulgaria and Italy to India for carving, then assembled in London, often cited as Britain's first traditionally built Hindu mandir.

- Price: Free

Did you know
The temple's stone was carved by thousands of craftsmen in India before being shipped to London in more than 26,000 pieces and assembled like a giant stone jigsaw, without any structural steel, following construction methods traditionally used in Hindu temple building.
Local tip
Entry to the temple itself is free and no booking is required, but the adjoining 'Understanding Hinduism' exhibition charges admission separately, and modest dress covering shoulders and knees is expected inside.
