Lenin worked in the building in 1902-03, when it housed a printing press, and edited 17 issues of the newspaper Iskra here.

Visit on a guided tour, Mondays at noon or Thursdays at 4pm (£10, £5 concession, booked online); the reading room is by appointment only, and the building has no lift or step-free toilets.
