The pitch is not flat: the playing area slopes about 2.5 m (8 ft 2 in) across the ground, and the MCC Museum is described as the oldest sports museum in the world.
Local tip
Tours last about 100 minutes and cost £32.95 for an adult. Book in advance online, as slots can sell out, and note that Lord's is a working ground, so some areas can be restricted on the day.
