Did you know
Freud's actual psychoanalysis couch, the one his patients used for free-association sessions and moved intact from his Vienna practice, is the centrepiece of his preserved study, along with his personal collection of Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquities.
Local tip
The museum only opened because Anna Freud specifically asked for the house to become one after her death. It's a real family home turned museum, not a recreation, so go in expecting a house tour more than a conventional exhibition.
