Did you know
Van Gogh's Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear and Manet's A Bar at the Folies-Bergère both hang here. The gallery reopened in 2021 after a three-year, £57 million renovation of its Somerset House rooms.
Local tip
It's easy to treat this as a quick add-on to a Somerset House visit, but the collection is dense enough (Botticelli, Rubens, and a dedicated Bloomsbury Group room) to deserve a proper hour on its own.
