A Grade I-listed English Baroque parish church on Deptford High Street, designed by Thomas Archer and consecrated in 1730 under Queen Anne's Act for building fifty new London churches, of which only twelve were ever completed.

Architectural historian Nikolaus Pevsner wrote that its design "comes closer to Borromini and the Roman Baroque than any other English church of this date," and it was one of only two churches Archer built under the Act, the other being St John's, Smith Square.
