Did you know
Christopher Wren added the church's Gothic steeple, a needle spire carried on four flying buttresses, between 1695 and 1701. After the 1941 Blitz the ruins became a public garden, which opened in 1971.
Local tip
Go early on a weekday morning if you want the ruined nave to yourself. It's a small space that gets busy with photographers and lunching office workers by midday.
