Built in 1776 and thought to be the largest tidal mill still standing in Britain, the House Mill marks its 250th anniversary in 2026.
Local tip
Tours run on Sundays at 11:30am, 1:30pm and 3pm, take about an hour and cost £10 including a guidebook and a hot drink. Booking is recommended and the mill closes for winter, so check the website for late-season dates.
