Did you know
Heaven opened in 1979 as Europe's largest gay venue, built inside a run-down roller disco by entrepreneur Jeremy Norman to rival New York's Paradise Garage, and its first resident DJ Ian Levine pioneered the Hi-NRG sound that went on to dominate gay clubs through the 1980s. In October 2025 owner Jeremy Joseph confirmed the club would remain open despite a rent increase.
Local tip
It's home to the long-running weekly night G-A-Y, which draws a different, often younger and more mainstream crowd than Heaven's other club nights. Check the night's specific programming rather than assuming a uniform vibe throughout the week.
