Did you know
The General Wolfe statue by Canadian sculptor Robert Tait McKenzie was a gift from the people of Canada, unveiled in 1930 by the Marquis de Montcalm, a descendant of Wolfe's battlefield opponent.
Local tip
Time it for dusk, when the City and Canary Wharf lights start coming on across the Thames. The view from the General Wolfe statue is one of London's best skylines and gets better as darkness falls.
