Did you know
Rowland Hill ran a school in the house from 1827. After leaving in 1839 to lead the General Post Office, he introduced the world's first postage stamps.
Local tip
Open Wednesday to Sunday, 1pm to 5pm, and closed on Good Friday, summer bank holidays and over Christmas. The park stays open all year and has a cafe in its south-east pavilion. The archive search room needs booking.
