The 100-horsepower beam engine was made by Wood Brothers of Sowerby Bridge in Yorkshire and has a 27-foot flywheel.
Local tip
Entry is free and it is usually open on the second and fourth Sundays of the month, 10am to 3.30pm; on steam days it opens 10am to 4pm with the engine running at 12.30pm and 2.30pm. Check the website for the next open day.
