Its Egyptian Revival gateway is claimed to be the earliest complete design for a permanent Egyptian Revival cemetery entrance anywhere in the world.
Local tip
Free; open from 8am until dusk (closing ranges from about 4pm in winter to 7pm in early September) and closed during yellow wind warnings. The Abney Park Trust runs history tours on the first Sunday of every month.
