Did you know
Charles I turned the land into a hunting park for red and fallow deer and formally enclosed it in 1637, and roughly 600 deer still roam it today.
Local tip
Pedestrian gates are open 24 hours, while vehicle gates open roughly 7am to 7.15pm (seasonal changes apply), so a dawn walk is easy on foot. King Henry's Mound has a protected sightline to St Paul's, and the 7-mile Tamsin Trail loops the park.
