Did you know
The Palm House, built 1844-48 by Decimus Burton and Richard Turner, was the first large-scale structural use of wrought iron, and UNESCO put Kew on the World Heritage list in July 2003.
Local tip
Wikipedia notes the Palm House was announced in 2025 to close for a five-year renovation, so head instead for the Temperate House, the largest Victorian glasshouse in existence, and the Treetop Walkway, 18 metres above the ground. Check Kew's site for current hours and prices, which I could not read.
