Did you know
It was once called Churchyard Bottom Wood; after Hornsey council bought it in 1898, Princess Helena, Duchess of Albany opened it to the public and it was renamed in honour of Queen Victoria.
Local tip
The wood is open 24 hours and Highgate is the nearest tube station, a few minutes' walk. The community cafe at 42 Muswell Hill Road is open daily 9am to 6pm and serves pastries and sandwiches.
