Did you know
Passenger trains stopped running on this Edgware, Highgate and London line in 1954, and in 1990 the route was declared a local nature reserve, the longest in London.
Local tip
The path is free, flat and hard-packed, so it suits walkers, cyclists and pushchairs. Start at Finsbury Park station and finish at Highgate station (about 4 km), passing the old Crouch End station platforms and the Spriggan sculpture.
