Did you know
The Post Office Railway ran from 1927 to 2003. Today's Mail Rail ride descends about 21 metres underground into tunnels no wider than 2.1 metres at their narrowest.
Local tip
Open Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm, and on Mondays in school holidays. Book online: one ticket covers the museum plus one Mail Rail ride of about 15 minutes, which starts in a separate building across the road.
