A battered chunk of limestone set into a glass case on Cannon Street, long claimed to be a talisman for the City of London. Blink and you'll walk past it, which is part of the charm.

Did you know
London Stone was regarded as a kind of talisman for the City, and by 1742 it was considered an obstruction to traffic, so it was moved; it later sat on temporary display at the Museum of London while its building was redeveloped.
Local tip
You can see it through the glass case on the Cannon Street frontage, a two-minute stop while passing. A plaque beside it explains the stone's history.
