The track hosted the cycling events at the 1948 Olympics and, between 1987 and 2011, was London's only operational velodrome.
Local tip
Book a Track Taster online through the velodrome's sessions calendar. Bring gloves (mandatory), closed-toe shoes and water, and arrive 15 to 30 minutes early because latecomers cannot join. Minimum age varies by session (8 or 14 and over), so check the listing.
