Holden drew inspiration from Gunnar Asplund's Stockholm City Library, and the station was upgraded from Grade II to Grade II* listing in July 2011.
Local tip
It is a working Piccadilly line station in fare zone 4, between Bounds Green and Southgate, so arrive by tube and look up at the circular ticket hall on the way in. It is a good stop for anyone interested in 1930s architecture.
