Did you know
It holds the London, Sugar & Slavery gallery, the only permanent UK museum gallery dealing directly with London's role in slavery and the slave trade. The building itself, a real 1802 sugar warehouse, was part of the trade it now documents.
Local tip
The warehouse setting means low ceilings and original timber beams throughout. It's a genuinely different feel from a purpose-built museum, so allow time to also look at the building itself, not just the exhibits inside it.
