Did you know
The velodrome's 250-metre track was laid with 56 km of Siberian pine and 350,000 nails, and the building is known informally as 'the Pringle' because of its shape.
Local tip
Road circuit pay-and-ride sessions were £7.60 per rider (family ticket £24 for four) and need to be booked in advance through the venue's booking site. Check the current rules on helmets and age limits when you book.
