Deptford's long-running street market along Deptford High Street and Douglas Way, trading Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, split between fresh food and fashion on the High Street and bric-a-brac and second-hand goods on Douglas Way.

Did you know
The market began in 1872 as a foreign cattle market, whose trade moved into Douglas Way in 1921 to ease congestion, and Victorian social researcher Charles Booth dubbed it "the Oxford Street of south London" in the 1890s.
Local tip
Douglas Way is the half worth digging through if you like bric-a-brac and second-hand finds, while the High Street side is more fresh food and fashion. Go on Saturday for the biggest spread of stalls, and arrive before midday since stalls start closing by mid-afternoon.
